I started looking for an audit tool due to an event that occurred in my Filemaker Pro database. I had a group of records that "disappeared" without rhyme or reason. I could not be sure if the event was a rogue script or human action or just a database error. SyncDeK seemed to fit the bill of full auditing without having to modify every aspect of my database.

Once I made the purchase decision it was a very easy install. I had the total solution installed and full audit running in under 2 hours. The package definitely paid for itself the next time I had an event occur in my database. Within a matter of minutes I had isolated the cause and was able to repair the damage soon thereafter. We started our business in 2001 using a single Filemaker server. However, as we grew to include locations on both coasts and in Europe, we found that it was not practical for users to log into a central server. This was especially true at a time when bandwidth was much more expensive than it is now. And so we turned to SyncDeK to synchronize our far-flung offices.

Even though we can now afford more bandwidth, there are many reasons why SyncDeK is a better overall solution for us. I first started using a SyncDeK system in spring 2010, to synchronize two servers for a tourist attraction that does enormous database traffic every day of the year. On a typical day, employees add or edit anywhere from 3000-4000 records per day; in a year, the system grew to over 1.5 million records, and is on track to double within the next 6 months.

SyncDeK has given this company the ability to have two separate networks--one for their offices in Missouri, another network in the tourist attraction itself in Tennessee--and have LAN speed for both networks, while maintaining total data synchronization between the two nodes.
